Dr. Adrian R. Smith Adrian Smith has made Jackson his home. After growing up in Baton Rouge, he attended Millsaps College and graduated with a bachelor of science in biology. From there he moved to Shreveport for medical school at LSU Medical Center. To complete his training, Dr. Smith returned to Jackson and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He first completed a residency in general surgery then moved on to plastic and reconstructive surgery. The training provided by the University was expansive allowing Dr. Smith to be exposed to a full spectrum of reconstructive, pediatric, cranio-facial, and cosmetic procedures. Because of his strong interest in breast and body surgery, Dr. Smith was asked to be a speaker at the inaugural Bariatric Plastic Surgery Workshop. He presented options for both breast reduction and breast reshaping or mastopexy. Besides lecturing in these areas, he corroborated on other presentations that dealt with advanced liposuction and the use of ultrasound in these procedures. Dr. Smith’s interests also include facial rejuvenation and he works closely with The Face & Body Spa to provide both surgical and non-surgical options for his patients. He is aware that more times than not a youthful façade requires maintenance skin therapy as well as surgical intervention. The gamut of facial rejuvenation is one that Dr. Smith is very familiar with from Botox and Restylane to more complicated surgical procedures. He and his wife Jessica are the proud parents of two young children: Olivia and Luke. They attend First Presbyterian Church in Jackson and are active in their Sunday school class. Outside of his family and medicine, Dr. Smith is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys amateur photography. Articles by Dr. Smith: |
