Dr. Dev A. ManiSundaram 
Dev A. ManiSundaram, MD, is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon,
certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. ManiSundaram
performs all types of plastic surgery. His specific interest in
aesthetic surgery includes breast augmentation, breast reduction,
abdominoplasty, liposuction, facial rejuvenation and body contouring
after weight-loss surgery.
Dr. ManiSundaram received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University
of Madras in India, where he also completed his Residency in General
Surgery from 1981 to 1985. He performed extensive research at Rush
Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago, in the field of Transplant
Surgery, and completed his General Surgery Residency in Chicago at the
University of Illinois MGH Residency program from 1987 to 1993. Then,
from 1993 to 1995, he completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at the
University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He is
board-eligible in General Surgery and board-certified in Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. ManiSundaram has been appointed at the University of Mississippi
Medical Center as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery
since 1995. He was recognized as a life member of the National Registry
of “Who’s Who” in 2000.
Dr. ManiSundaram’s talent and commitment in the field of Plastic Surgery
have earned him membership into several of the most distinguished and
respected medical associations and societies, including the American
College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Society of
Plastic Surgeons, Southern Medical Association, Southeastern Society of
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Mississippi State Medical
Association, and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. ManiSundaram’s hospital affiliations include St. Dominic – Jackson
Memorial Hospital, River Oaks Hospital, Woman’s Hospital at River Oaks,
Plastic Surgical Center of Mississippi, and Central Mississippi Medical
Center. He is also a member of the Bariatric team at Central Mississippi
Medical Center.
Dr. ManiSundaram’s personal team includes Ann Rigney, who got her
Masters in Nursing at Mississippi College. Ann was an operating room
director for eleven years prior to working with Dr. ManiSundaram. She
brings her expertise from surgical nursing to the practice. His other
assistant is Becky Jones, who is planning to pursue a career in nursing.
Both members provide compassionate care to all of his patients.
Dr. ManiSundaram and his wife, Brinda, a biochemist, have three
children: Arvind, Naveen, and Krish. The eldest son, Arvind, is a
current sophomore at Rice University in Houston, Texas, while the
younger two sons are in tenth and fifth grades respectively at St.
Andrew’s Episcopal School.
When not found at home or at the surgical center, Dr. ManiSundaram can
be found at the golf course with his children and his friends.
